Day 12: Rafting the River & Kebabs

Once again, Andrew and I awoke to the sweet, sweet sounds of Anna Marie. Screaming, laughing, talking, etc., too cute. We had some coffee and read to Anna Marie while John made pancakes and bacon. Breakfast was a five star meal again. After we finished eating, we all started getting ready for our day on the river. John loaded up his Tundra, then decided after it was packed that it may not be entirely reliable. Andrew and I emptied the back seat of his truck and then he helped John load up the raft and gear. We drove over to McClay Flats in two separate cars so we could shuttle. We unloaded everything and carried it to the river's edge. Andrew and Whitney left to drop off Andrew's truck at Harper's Bridge where we would take out the boat. While they did that, I stayed with John and Anna Marie. I was on baby duty while John inflated the raft and get everything together. Once Andrew and Whitney returned, we all hopped in the boat and headed down the river.

Looking at Osprey in the trees.
The ride down the river took just over 3 hours. Anna Marie did very well. She was quite content watching all the people and wildlife we passed. Once we got out at Harper's Bridge and loaded up the car, we all headed  back to McClay Flats to grab the other car. Anna Marie fell asleep in Andrew's truck, so she, Andrew and Whitney headed back to the house while John and myself went to the grocery store to pick up a few things for dinner. We didn't want to do much cooking, so I suggested kebabs. Apparently, it went over well and dinner was delicious!

We ate dinner and talked until it was dark outside. The brownies had just come out of the oven and were ready for eating. I started on my blog posts and everyone else began watching episodes of Deadwood. Andrew and Whitney passed out on the couch before the end of the show. Once the credits came on, we turned in for the night.
